Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one titles have been won on hard surfaces

A revitalized the Russian player claimed his initial trophy for over two years with a win over Corentin Moutet in the competition championship match.

The athlete, a ex- top-ranked player, has had a challenging period, winning just one match at the Grand Slams and undergoing a setback at the American major.

The player's unpredictability on the professional circuit - and struggles with his service game in especial - resulted in him dropping out of the world's top 10 and finally parting ways with former trainer Cervara.

Now collaborating with his coach and his other coach, the tennis star has consistently improved in the last few weeks - climaxing in a tightly fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 victory over challenger Corentin Moutet.

This marks the player's first championship following the Italian tournament and maiden on a hard surface since spring of the previous year.

The win also means the Russian has achieved 21 titles at twenty-one different tournaments.

"This marks the first occasion I am participating in a competition with my two daughters at once, so to secure a trophy is really nice," stated ranked player Medvedev.

"This title is in honour of my younger daughter Victoria, because the first title I won when my older daughter my daughter was born was for her."

The athlete, the former major winner, had been defeated in his past six championship matches, featuring in that event previously this season.

Medvedev's retrieving approach and recurring emotional displays on the tennis court had prompted observers to question if his skill to play at the elite level was over.

Yet the 29-year-old has altered his approach in the last few weeks, striving to advance forward and compete positively, supported by an improved serving game.

Medvedev recovered from a deficit in the first set against the challenging Frenchman, taking four of the concluding five points to go ahead.

The competitors exchanged breaks in the second set before Moutet, attempting for his maiden professional victory, seized the initiative to force a final set.

Moutet rescued 4 early chances in a tight deciding set before Medvedev broke to that score to serve for the match.

Suitably, the winner clinched victory with a point at the net, with the Frenchman unable to manage a return after over two and a half hours.
